Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Handle entire accounting function,
- Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment processing, setting up new vendors and customers, and recording various financial transactions as needed.
- Ensure vendors are in compliance with 1099 rules and coordinate 1099 filing with accounting firm.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a timely basis, verify deposits, and expenses.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet, income statements, Cash flow statements and other financial reports as needed.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and assist in developing budgets and forecasts.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, account reconciliations, and close monthly books.
- Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts and jobs for proper job costing.
- Research and correct account discrepancies.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
- Create accounting entries in the company’s registers and journals related to payroll and 401(k).
- Support the accounts payable and receivable employees with day-to-day activities.
- Create estimates and sales receipts from quotes and determine markups using comparison with executed contracts.
- Enter and code credit card transactions and reconcile to statement balance.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Intercompany transactions.
- Familiarity with WIP reporting.
- Prepare documents for audits.
- Other Accounting duties as assigned.
- Proficient with QuickBooks accounting software. Familiarity with Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate accounting software.
- Be punctual, reliable, and meet all work scheduling requirements.
Experience
- This position requires at least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction Industry.
Education
- Preferably a Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent experience.

We are looking for an Inside/Outside Salesperson to join our Builders Chicago team. You will have the opportunity to help us grow and expand our business.
As part of the Sales team, you will partner with our customers to determine their needs and create solutions to satisfy their needs and requirements. The ideal candidate will provide timely exceptional customer service to new and existing accounts; using a relationship sales approach to generate & qualify leads, grow existing customers and close sales. On average the Sales team spends 40% of their week in the office, 60% in the field.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay, starting at $55,000 – $75,000 based on experience

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum two years’ sales experience in B2B.
One year in commercial construction- experience with commercial doors preferred.
Strong people/networking/relationship building skills.
Detail oriented.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PDF editing).
Passionate with the ability to create innovative solutions to solve challenges.
Possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
Reliable personal vehicle transportation.
Ability to pass a federal background check and required drug testing.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of this position, including occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
